Move over boys, it was the Mike,Mark and Moff show! Hold my beer boys My name is Murray do you know me? All jokes aside he is sadly missed along with the great Mike Raymond!
YOOO
Senna was like the michael Jordan/Michael jackson of F1. He transcended the sport , I remember where I was and what I was doing when he passed. I was playing on my BMX when my uncle came down to tell me and my older brother with tears in his eyes . He just said: Senna died. Never seen my uncle cry before or since. The majority of my family were in rally so had a deep connection to racing. Man ....Senna was something different.
Exactly what senna said if u see a gap u take it or your no longer a racing driver u race to be first and thts it
What a great field, over 30 cars!!
2024😭
"You can lose a lot more than the race," Brian Redman
06:47 damn!! We have seen this before haven't we
THANKS GUYS ❤
3 weeks later BROCK hit the wall @ Bathurst doing about 160kph. Then 1995 Bathurst top 10 shootout hit the wall at the cutting and spun out.
Peak !
Nigel Mansell 👍 I was a little boy in 1987 at Silverstone... Daddy loved Mansell so we bought tickets and went to our local British GP. That sunday Nigel became my racing hero fighting against Nelson Piquet. I will never forget his big british win at our home GP the great Nigel Mansell. Front page of the Times Telegraph and Guardian Newspapers on Monday morning day after the race. I was a paperboy 11yrs old and read the papers monday morning.
Would love to see INDYCAR drivers trying their hand at F1
I think Mario Andretti did
The little vignette of him at the back of the car, when he says ticked his bucket list, you can see he.probably crying the same way he did back when he was a kid, and he realized just jumped out of his heros car....he took over for him.
Unfortunately, all the public are allowed. Is what he said that’s why he didn’t win the race.
Moff lets the cat out of the bag at the 42 min mark. Most casual observers weren't aware the big dollar Holden teams were using fully imported NASCAR style Chev crate race motors at this stage. All the Ford teams were using these imports. Both the Chev & Ford crate engines were capable of churning out well over 600 Brake HorsePower straight out of the box. Larry Perkins was heavily invested in genuine Holden V8 power throughout the entire '93 ATCC season. While the big money Holden teams got their Chev engines settled in, Larry persevered with his beloved Holdens. By the time Bathurst rolled around in October, all the big teams were quietly confident their Chevs could outlast, outrun, outperform & beat Larry's old Holden. It didn't quite pan out that way. Larry had busied himself all year by heading off to Holden's engine foundary with some very interesting ideas. He asked the pattern makers to cast him up some thicker blocks & heads which he believed would help make the Holden stronger & also allow him to redesign the porting to make even more horsepower than any successful race winning Holden had ever had before. Larry's ideas worked (as usual). Those Chev powered Commodores ran strong at Bathurst in 1993. So did the Falcons. Larry had solid engineering on his side with just a tiny splash of good fortune. His 1993 Holden powered VP Commodore whalloped allcomers including the Chevs & his '93 VP was the last car to win at Bathurst with a Holden V8 under the bonnet. This fabulous victory ended the very successful reign of the Holden V8 at Bathurst after first arriving in 1974 with the L34 Torana. The L34, the A9X & the early Commodores with Five Litre Holden Power won more Bathursts than any other engine during that period. The Falcons all ran 351 Clevelands from 1974 until the advent of V8 Supercars allowed crate motors. The Camaros ran 350 Chevs. No Chev ever beat a Holden V8 at Bathurst & very few Clevos or Windsors ever beat them either. Thankfully, Larry stayed with his Holdens & proved to the world one more time in 1993 just how good Holden's little V8 really was even when it was absolutely surrounded by big dollar much fancied specialised imported race engines. By 1994, CAMS stipulated Chev engines in all new Holden V8 SuperCars... Funny bout that. Thankyou Larry. Love your work.
Senna was a racing animal and God at the same time. I remember perfectly the Square meter i was standing when i heard he died. I still cry ..
I know for a lot of people they want to see their favorite racing driver be able to retire, but I also think that dying doing what a race driver loves is also a fine way to leave the world, despite the tragedy
The Flying Brummie.....what a guy, what an era....
Lost count how many times ive watched this vídeo. I was born in Brazil in the 80s. I remember Sundays watching F1. The music that would play on tv when a Brazilian driver would win (respect to Piquet also). Football nation would stop for Senna. Now living in the UK, I can recognise even more how many people he touched across the globe. Cried my eyes out when he died. Still makes me cry today. Thank you Airton.
The year that Emmo lost all his fans in the USA for refusing the traditional milk for his orange juice from his Brazilian orange farm. Total disrespect for the IMS traditions.
The greatest driver to have ever lived. It was an absolute privilege to watch you on Sunday’s.
Few people have countries mourn for them. He was just that big.
radioheads optimistic with those highlights = instant goosebumps
god i miss this... clarkson and just a great story
Every time i see a video of Schumacher its like seeing a ghost... never liked the man... always hated his guts for killing f1 in the mid 2000s... but im really sad about what happened to him and how he cant enjoy his legacy
Periodically watch this and cry
Shame Hamilton doesn’t act more like senna. Hamilton is a fantastic driver but he acts like a clown.
I WAS A TEENAGER WHEN I SAW SENNA IN TV DRIVING...IT WAS SOMETHING HMM SPECIAL, MAGIC? I HAVE NO WORDS ! REALY, WATCHING ALL GP ON TV YOU CAN SEE HE IS... MAGIC ! ALL THE OTHER PILOTS ARE GREAT TOO BUT..." GOD WAS WITH SENNA", YES THAT IS THE MAGIC.. AND YOU CAN SEE IT, REAL TALK ! PS: VILLENEUVE WAS THE LITTLE SENNA.. ALSO WITH THIS MAGIC !
Wonderfull footage, those were great fun days
30 yr anniversary this weekend. RIP Senna
Having his biggest nemesis and rival carrying his coffin says everything you need to know about the guy
To have lived in senna time was truly a gift i will never forget. I remember my dad crying because senna had died. Top Gear summed senna up perfectly. Senna was exceptional all the time. Never forgotten by all motor sport fans
way better than the movie
Clarkson is just one of the best storytellers.
2 points 1. When he stopped when Weidlinger crashed he didn't just 'help', the driver was unconscious with foot flat on the throttle and the engine running. Senna hit the kill switch and stopped the thing exploding. 2. The lap from 5th to 1st at Donnington was on slicks
It wasn’t weidlinger, it was Erik comas. I would add a third point. His first win in Brazil after so many tries , he raced and won with a damaged gearbox that would only take 6th gear on the 2-3 last laps. It was insane. He could barely lift himself from the car and it was a herculeous work to lift the trophy at the podium.
What’s this one.
This wasn't a tribute. This was a Monument! Bravo!
Whats the name of the song at 5:55 please?
12:27 that sound
Old carby Group A Commodores sounded magnificent at a street circuit 😍
When Formula 1 was really Formula 1.
8:13 it’s a lie ! The year before Prost hit Senna in Suzuka, leaving the race. Senna continued, changed the wings and was able to surpass Nanini with only 5 laps remaining. Balledtre (French F1) president disqualified Senna. The next year the situation switched, Ballastre again intervened changing the pole position spot (Senna) to favor Prost. Yes, there was a Gap and Prost knew that Senna had nothing to loose, Prost should had been smarter, but he wasn’t. Sweet revenge, unfortunately daddy Ballestre couldn’t nothing about the 2nd time around.
How was it possible to cover 5th to 1st in 01 lap with 03 world champions
Rain..
The Sound of the McLaren MP4/4 OMG!!!
I come back every year for his anniversary 😢
THE best tribute and why I loved Top Gear so much. Still moves me like 10 years ago seeing it the first time.
30 years gone, now Rest in Peace, Ayrton Senna.
Today marks 30 years since we lost one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Formula 1 drivers of all time. Ayrton Senna da Silva, you will never be forgotten. Thank you, Clarkson, for this incredible tribute that still moves me to tears. Thank you very much, Senna.
